Switch ‘N’ Shoot just got a heck of a lot more awesome-looking, thanks to this amazing new illustration by Paul Duffield!! (portfolio/twitter)
Paul’s an old friend from college and we’ve talked about collaborating on several projects over the years, so I’m suuuuper excited to finally be able to work with him.
The new artwork is intended to evoke retro arcade cabinets using a very limited colour palette and taking a certain amount of artistic licence to interpret the in-game sprites.

Unlike the original arcade games, however, the artwork can overlay the game screen in a way that allows colour and explosions to spill out around its borders. What’s more, you can shrink down to the old portrait view by exiting full-screen mode, or simply rotating your
mobile
device. It looks really cool during gameplay, so look out for it in the next build.
As always, you can play the pre-alpha builds for free on itch.io. If you like what you see, please give Switch ‘N’ Shoot a vote on Steam Greenlight and follow me and Paul on Twitter.
